My Background

I completed medical school in my hometown of Kansas City, Missouri. I chose to specialize in Psychiatry and completed my residency as Howard University Hospital in Washington DC. Following three years of general psychiatry training I relocated to the west coast to complete child and adolescent psychiatry sub-specialization training at the University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Hospital. I completed my training with a one year fellowship at Oregon Health and Science University where I focused on forensic psychiatry. I am board certified in Psychiatry, as well as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

When I am not working I enjoy cooking, playing with my two dogs, swimming, traveling, and taking care of my many plants.

I am deeply passionate about equity in medicine, specifically reducing racial disparities. I enjoy working most with teens and young adults providing both medication and therapy.
